In 1991, director/founder Robin Renzi opened her New York City-based jewelry house on the belief in the power of jewelry to express the human values of strength, love, and faith. Using ancient characters from Tibetan, Chinese, Sanskrit and Tamil languages, much of the line is engraved in a simple, straightforward manner with words/phrases fraught with meaning, turning each piece into a modern-day talisman. Throughout the years, Me & Ro developed a strong celebrity following, including actress Julia Roberts.

Unknown The Telluride AIDS Benefit has focused on prevention education and outreach since its inception in 1993. The next chapter in TAB's playbook occurs Friday, November 19, when TAB hosts Hope's Voice, a special program, exclusive to the student body of the Telluride Middle School/High School.

The talk, "Does HIV Look Like Me," features Hope's Voice spokespeople Todd Murray and Christina Rock, two young adults living with HIV/AIDS. Specifically the duo plan to discuss the realities of living, not dying, with an uninvited and persistent "companion."

Ruffles and fringe and tulle, oh my! The frillier the better and this season’s trends are all about bringing out the feminine and flirty side of fashion. Ruffles, fringe and tulle are what you need to keep a look out for this season and whether you like it or not, it’s time for that inner girly-girl to shine.

Ruffles have become one of fashion’s mainstream trends this fall. They are romantic and simplistic.  Ruffles are welcome anywhere and are right for a woman at any age. Ruffles can be found on blouses, skirts, sweaters, jackets, shoes, and bags. Ruffled tanks that you bought for the summer can easily be turned into underpinnings this fall and winter season; layer a ruffled tank under a belted cashmere sweater and you have a sophisticated look that can be worn day or night. Go big and try a Marc Jacobs tiered ruffled skirt—or start small, and with a ruffled blouse by Bell.

After eight years in the field, Lacrosse in Telluride is going legit: This will be the first year that the boys and girls teams will be entering the CHSAA (Colorado High School Activities Association) Mountain Division. New players are welcome, and there will be an informational meeting Thursday, Oct. 28 (today!) at 5:30 p.m. at the high school cafeteria. Pizza will be served.

Lacrosse in Telluride started out eight years ago with just 15-18 high school boys and has grown into a girls and boys program with high school and middle school teams, and TYLA (Telluride Youth Lacrosse Association) anticipates more than 80 athletes will play this season. In the last few years the boys team has had a number of second and third place finishes in tournament play, and the girls (which started just four years ago) took second place at the Edwards LAX Jam in their first season. Playing for CHSAA is bound to help the players improve. “This will test our skills against much bigger schools with more established programs,” says Frank Hensen, president of the TYLA board.

Well...it is because my life as an adventurer and explorer has put me into some of the most twisted realities I can or can't imagine. I live life daily and this week has been no different.

Most of us haven’t thought of wearing a pair of cargo pants since the 90s, but guess what? They’re back! Skinny cargos have become a staple in most fashion magazines and in many a closet throughout Hollywood. -1

Some might say that skinny cargos are an oxymoron.  Well, in a sense, yes they are! When we think of cargos, we think of bulk and oversized pockets, but the latest trend of the pant is everything but. The new skinny cargos have a sleeker silhouette, and the pockets sit to flatter to the body, which keeps them from adding extra bulk and width to the legs.

One of the best things about skinny cargo pants is that they are easily incorporated into your wardrobe. They work with baggy or tight tops, heels, flats, and boots. Pair them with a sweater, denim jacket or blazer. And the skinny cargo also looks flattering on all body types – it’s all about finding the right fit and style to work with your shape.

Fall has not yet subsided into winter, and if you're still out hiking in Telluride, there's one last trail you should check out: Hawn Mountain. Anyone who has ever tried to walk over a talus slope or a scree field, putting their ankles in jeopardy on the shifting rocks and sometimes ending up on their backsides, will appreciate the sheer genius of the Hawn Mountain trail. Gray Head developer and longime local Steve Catsman designed this and all 16 miles of the Gray Head trails, as well as the Keystone Gorge Trail on the other side of the Telluride Valley. The trail’s switchbacks pass through ferrous rock, sharp pieces of grey and rust-colored granite. But instead of picking your way through the stones, take the stairs—an intricate staircase has been fashioned from the rocks, giving hikers a firm footing over which to pass through the scree field.

The stairway is truly amazing, maybe even as spectacular as the vantage points you reach on the hike. Doug Wolfe and his crew helped construct the rock route, and Wolfe said it took him a good two weeks to stand up without pain after it was completed.

In Telluride, the Ah Haa School for the Arts is celebrating in support, designating the 10th month of the year  to "The Art of Being a Woman." Among the events on the agenda is BRA-vo, a bra invitational: bras gathered from local donations are to be decorated throughout the month, then displayed by stunning models, all men, all jocks, on the runway at the school Thursday, October 21, 7 – 9 p.m. We are LOL just thinking about it. But breast cancer is no laughing matter. Unknown-1 Breast cancer: two words that strike fear in the hearts of women around the world – and with good reason. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, aside from non-melanoma skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women. Research from the National Cancer Institute reveals that in the U.S. in 2010 alone, over 200,000 women were diagnosed with the disease.
