The Telluride Historical Museum is celebrating our 60th anniversary this year! Built in 1896 as Hall’s Hospital, after it closed in 1964, the building reopened as the Museum in 1966.

We would like to formally invite you to our Telluride Dinner Party, hosted at the museum, to celebrate this important milestone with us! Enjoy cocktails as you mingle with locals who were born in the building, and peruse our new and permanent exhibits. Black Salt Catering will be serving a plated dinner while you hear from a panel of museum legends who helped THM become who we are. We hope to celebrate this milestone of the Telluride Historical Museum’s history with you, your friends, and our museum family.

Tickets can be purchased here.

We hope you’ve stopped in to see our newest exhibit, “Moments that Made US: San Miguel Stories,” to see some incredible artifacts and interpretation. If you want to dive deeper into the history of our state, and county, be sure to swing by the museum and grab a Colorado Day Scavenger Hunt! There are 100 points to earn by visiting historic sites, homes, and spaces across San Miguel County. Grab your family, or a team of friends and start earning points to win prizes! The first place team will earn a custom Trophy!

Stop by the museum to grab a copy, or download your own copy here.

Our annual Evening With Ken Burns will take place on August 30th, tentatively at the Palm Theatre. This year, we are screening Episode 5 of Vietnam: This is What We Do, with a Q&A to follow.

Be sure to book your tickets early.

Tickets are available here.

Our August Hike into history will be led by Aldasoro Descendant Ashley Von Spreecken and will take place at the end of August. The location, time, and date are to be determined.

Tickets will be available on our website.

Don’t forget to see what we are up to online! Each month we release a new episode of our micro-podcast called Historic Harmonies. You can find the episodes on Spotify, here, or catch them after KOTO’s Wednesday evening news segment on the third Wednesday of the month.

Want to learn more about our local history and landscapes? Check out our “Power of Place” videos on Facebook, Instagram, and Tik Tok.

We’ve also begun a series on YouTube called “Western Work” that dives into the history behind work in the west at the turn of the century, and now. Our first video is on the history of saddle making.

We hope to see you at our August programs!
