TAB Board of Directors is delighted to announce Laya Barak is the new Executive Director as of August 25, 2025.

Laya brings extensive experience in HIV activism, arts leadership and community engagement with a proven record in nonprofit fundraising. Her leadership will be instrumental in furthering TAB’s mission to end HIV through fashion events, education, creativity, and cultural connection in Telluride and beyond.

Laya most recently served TAB as Artistic Director for three years. Before that  she was Artistic Director of Broadway Bares, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS in New York, NY, a nonprofit funding organization focused on fighting HIV.

“I am beyond excited and truly honored for the opportunity to continue the legacy of TAB, building on the incredible work of those who came before me. This organization has such a powerful mission and history, and I look forward to taking it to the next level, expanding our reach, deepening our impact, and ensuring we continue to make a difference,” said Laya.

“We are beyond excited to welcome Laya as our new Executive Director. With a refreshed mission, our much-anticipated return to the airport in June 2026, and the successful progress of our capital campaign, this is a truly inspiring moment in TAB’s history. Laya’s passion, energy, and understanding of our organization will build on our strong foundation and lead us into a bright future. We can’t wait to see where she takes us!,” said Board Chair Cynthia Sommers.

Jessica Galbo, TAB’s outgoing Executive Director, has led the organization through a pivotal transitional period.

“I’m confident Laya’s vision, energy, and expertise will guide TAB into its next exciting chapter,” said TAB’s former ED Jessica Galbo.
