12 May Telluride Regional Med Center: May Health Month & National Mental Health Awareness Month!
The Telluride Regional Medical Center (TRMC) puts out the word: May is Health Month, also National Mental Health Month.
Go here for more about the Telluride Regional Medical Center (back to 2009).
The following is a note from Dr. Sharon Grundy, Primary Care Medical Director at TRMC.
As the Primary Care Medical Director at Telluride Medical Center, I have the privilege of being at the frontline of community health. We believe that prevention is the foundation of wellness. Our providers recommend annual well visits for all age groups to strengthen the Patient-Provider relationship and develop a comprehensive individual health plan.
Since the Covid-19 pandemic, fewer than half of our patients are coming in for their annual well exam. The goal of those visits is to set aside time to take care of an individual outside of acute or chronic problems. These appointments are designed for individual risk assessment for cardiovascular risk, cancer risk, skin checks, weight assessment. Heart disease remains the #1 cause of death in the U.S., and early detection through regular screenings is key to prevention and management.
Come in and see us at the TRMC to create your individualized health plan based on your family history, age and lifestyle.
