The Telluride Regional Medical Center is proud to announce the appointment of Jeff Roberts as its new Executive Director, effective January 1, 2024. He brings to the position 25 years of experience and a proven track record in healthcare leadership.

Jeff holds a BA in Business from the University of Minnesota and an MHA in Healthcare Management. He joins Telluride Regional Medical Center from The Orthopedic Surgery Center in Denver, where he was responsible for developing a leadership team, overseeing the facility’s start-up from construction to welcoming the first patient, and executing insurance contracts. Most importantly, Jeff fostered a culture of collaboration and engagement, which was well appreciated by both staff and physicians. His extensive background in primary care, specialty care and hospital operations uniquely positions him to lead Telluride Regional Medical Center into a new era of growth and community-focused healthcare.

Reflecting on his new role, Jeff Roberts shares his personal connection to Telluride:

“My frequent visits to Telluride over several years have given me a deep familiarity with its beauty. However, each time I have the pleasure of bringing someone new here, their fresh excitement and awe remind me of the unique charm and wonder of this area, reigniting my own appreciation for its special qualities. What I’m looking forward to most about this role is that I’m able to use my professional expertise in an area I love and be able to give back to the community.”

Roberts will succeed Dr. Diana Koelliker, who has served as the Interim CEO since April 2023. As a long-standing ER Provider and Director of Emergency and Trauma Services, Diana is supporting Jeff as he transitions into his new role.

Under Jeff’s leadership, TRMC will continue focusing on improving revenue streams and strategically expanding services. Improving patient experience and reaching out to all members of the community who need care is also a top priority. He is committed to maintaining the highest standards of care and strengthening the bonds between Telluride Regional Medical Center and the community it serves.

Paul Reich, Chair of the Telluride Hospital District Board, expresses his confidence in Roberts’ new role,

“Jeff Roberts has an extensive background in hospital practice administration including both small practices like the Telluride Regional Medical Center and larger hospital based systems. This experience is critical as we work to improve our current practices as well as position ourselves to grow into a new regional facility. In addition, Jeff was already a homeowner in Mountain Village and is familiar with the community and its needs as a frequent visitor and part-time resident over the past decade.”

The entire team at Telluride Regional Medical Center is excited to welcome Jeff and looks forward to a bright and innovative future under his guidance.

Paul Reich further elaborates on the future of TRMC:

“With financial backing from local governments last fall, the approval of the ballot measure in November, and the successful appointment of an experienced Executive Director, TRMC is firmly on course to maintain its role as a healthcare leader in our region. Given that the nearest hospital is in Montrose, the availability of high-quality emergency and primary care is vital for our community’s overall health. We are optimistic that the Society Turn development will lead to acquiring land for a new regional facility. We are also fortunate to have robust community support and a skilled, dedicated team of providers as we embark on a new chapter in Telluride Regional Medical Center’s history.”
