Many locals are now eligible for their booster shot, but by virtue of this being a data-led process the guidelines are ever changing and a bit complicated.
Let’s break it down:
Children age 5-12 will likely be eligible for vaccines soon, before Thanksgiving is the hope.
New booster guidelines for those who are already vaccinated, now suggest people can get the booster from a different vaccine than originally received.
So are you eligible?
Did you have the Johnson & Johnson vaccine? If so, and it was administered more than two months ago, you’re eligible for a booster, which can be Moderna, Pfizer or Johnson & Johnson.
Did you have a *Moderna or Pfizer vaccine? If so, and it was more than six months ago, you’re eligible for a vaccine if you are immunocompromised, over 65 or work in a place where you are frequently exposed to COVID-19.
You will not be asked to show evidence of your immunocompromised or employer status.
*The Moderna booster may be a half dose version of the initial shot, depending on your health status.
