Telluride Med Center: “I don’t only want to see you when you’re sick”!

Telluride Medical Center puts out the word that Dr. Sharon Grundy doesn’t only want to see her patients when they’re sick. She wants to see them once a year, and especially when they’re healthy. To make an appointment with a primary care provider or for more information visit tellmed.org or call 728.3848.

I’ve noticed that many of my patients skipped 2020.

And I get it — I totally get it. But the time for deferred maintenance is over. It’s time to connect with your healthcare provider again.

As a matter of pride to everyone at our clinic: We are not only a resource for sick or injured people; we’re a medical home for integrative and wellness services.

Preventive care is the heart of our practice.

And this care is for everyone.

The majority of private insurances do cover an annual preventive health visit, with no co-pay. Likewise, Medicare covers an annual wellness visit.

However, if you’re uninsured or under-insured we offer affordable wellness services including an annual preventive health visit ($85), and discounted pricing on screenings for cholesterol, thyroid and blood count, vitamin D, diabetes, prostate and cervical cancer and STI testing.

Let’s make 2021 your healthiest year — and let’s make your annual preventive health visit a part of your success!

Annual preventive health visits are how we come to understand your individual risk factors, review your prevention efforts and set health goals for the year.

We want to see every member of your family for an annual preventive health visit!

Well Child Check-Ups are a critical opportunity for our providers to track your child’s development, measure progress and make sure they get the care they need to stay healthy.

For many of us, the health challenges we face can be avoided or mitigated by an annual preventive health visit.

During your annual preventive health visit we can determine if you require a prostate evaluation, pap smear, mammogram, bone density screening, skin screening, cervical exam or colorectal referral based on your age, risk factors and family history.

During your visit we also perform a depression/anxiety screening and asses your risk for cardiovascular disease (heart attacks being the number one killer of both men and women!).

It’s sometimes more comfortable to talk about current events than health, but together we can change that culture and give your overall health the attention it deserves.

Dedication to preventive care is not new for our medical center. As a recognized Level III Patient Centered Medical Home—the highest recognition offered by The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA)—we use evidence-based, patient-centered processes that focus on highly coordinated care and long-term, participative relationships.

We provide healthcare to everyone in the community, regardless of whether or not you are insured. Additional to the discounted services, we also offer payment plans and a sliding scale for services throughout the year.

Everyone deserves exceptional healthcare and there’s no better time than now to get back on track.
