Here’s everything you need to know about local COVID-19 testing options:

If you’re symptomatic you should be evaluated. If you or anyone in your household has symptoms of COVID-19, the entire household should isolate and immediately make plans to have a medical evaluation and necessary tests at the Telluride Regional Medical Center’s Interim Depot Clinic.

COVID-19 Symptoms: Fever, chills, temperature of 100.4 or higher, loss of smell, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, runny nose or congestion, muscle or body aches, headache, fatigue, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.

If you’re asymptomatic but would like to get tested for COVID-19 there are several local options, all are free, and you will not be required to show ID.

COVID-19 tests are free anywhere you receive one. The cost of an evaluation may be covered under the Cares Act, insurance or a financial aid program offered by our clinic. Please, if you think you may have COVID-19, don’t let cost get in the way of your seeking an evaluation.

At present, test results are being returned within 3 – 5 business days, but are always contingent to change based on Fed Ex schedules and demands on laboratories.

Even with more testing options, we still can’t test our way out of this crisis. The best way to protect your family and slow the spread of this deadly disease is to limit travel and contact with others.

New testing options does allow for our team to prioritize medical evaluation and testing for symptomatic patients, to focus on vaccination efforts and to keep patients on course with annual exams and well child check-ups, immunizations, contraceptive care, mental health care, colposcopies and chronic disease management.
