COVID-19 Antibody Testing Schedule Announced for East County Residents!

As part of San Miguel County’s ongoing initiative to offer the COVID-19 ELISA antibody test to county residents, the San Miguel County Department of Public Health and Environment, assisted by dozens of volunteers, collected more than 300 blood samples on Thursday from a pre-selected group of teachers and their families. “The testing process went as planned and PHASE 1 will continue tomorrow [Friday] with another 500 pre-selected essential workers and their families,” said San Miguel County Sheriff Bill Masters.

County Public Health also released more details about the East County testing schedule, which will take place at the Telluride Intermediate School, 717 West Colorado Avenue in Telluride.

“Please note, because we expect to process thousands of people, this schedule is subject to change. Which is why we’d like everyone to sign up for CodeRED alerts as this is the best way to notify people,” said Masters.

Masters also noted, West End County plans are underway and testing may start next week.

PHASE 2: Saturday, March 28, East San Miguel County, seniors only (60 years-old and over), three time slots scheduled:

Saturday, 9am – 1030am: Residents age 60+ living in east Telluride, from the east side of Pine Street to Bridal Veil (Pandora Mill) in Telluride.

Saturday, 1030am – Noon: Residents age 60+ living in east Telluride, from the west side of Pine Street to Society Roundabout.

Saturday Noon to 4pm: Residents age 60+ living west of the Society roundabout and within the R1 School District. (The rest of East County)

Please do not call to request appointments or changes.

If you know seniors who do not have internet access, please pass this message to them.

If you do not feel comfortable pre-registering online, a volunteer will help you register at the testing site.

PHASE 3: Sunday, March 29 – Thursday, April 2, East County General Population (residents age 9 – 59):
