06 Dec TAB 2017: Noel Nite, TAB Tickets, CHIP Art
The Children’s Hospital Immunodeficiency Program inside the Denver Children’s Hospital began attending to the medical needs of HIV-infected children in 1991, only three short years before TAB got off the ground. Now in its 25th year, CHIP has grown into multi-disciplinary program serving infected parents, expectant mothers, children, and their families.
To help some of those individuals overcome the grinding feeling they are alone, one of the bonding activities TAB funds help guarantee is an annual Art Day. On Art Day people struggling with HIV/AIDS meet others confronting similar issues. Healing occurs when together they create something from nothing but what is in their collective hearts.
The results of CHIP’s Art Day will be on display on Wednesday, Noel Night, December 7, when much loved “kids art auction” that has happened every year as part of the TAB Art Auction happens early this year. The event takes place at Ghost Town Grocers, along with the sale of Telluride AIDS Benefit Sneak Peek and Gala tickets.
Stop by Ghost Town from noon – 7 p.m. to support the patients and their families from CHIP with the purchase of their artwork.
TAB staff will also be on hand to help you buy your tickets for the Fashion Show, while offering up a traditional Noel Night glass of wine.
TAB’s 2017 Show: “Breaking the Silence”
Artistic Direction by Shawn Rosza. Choreography by Jessica Galbo.
The theme of TAB’s 2017 show is “Breaking the Silence.”
When Rosza was asked to direct this year’s show, he started talking to friends about their thoughts on the subject of AIDS. The reaction he got from so many people was “I don’t hear much about that disease anymore. I thought that issue was solved. They found a cure, didn’t they?”
Rosza was completely taken aback by the response and immediately realized he had his theme.
We must continue to talk about this disease to break the stigma surrounding it.
We must continue to take action by raising money where federal funds have dried up. we must continue to volunteer for the cause and make noise!
