12 Oct Telluride Medical Center: Working with Vets
Telluride Medical Center joins Veterans Association’s Choice Program to provide veterans with easy access to routine medical care locally.
The Telluride Medical Center recently expanded its services in order to provide top-quality care for local veterans. The program – Veterans Choice – enables veterans to seek care at Telluride Medical Center (TMC) instead of having to travel to Montrose or Grand Junction.
“I think I speak for all of us at Telluride Medical Center in saying that we are so grateful for the service our veterans have provided for our country, so it is a pleasure to be able to make their lives a little easier by offering this service to them,” said accounts receivable specialist Ann Wyatt.
Veterans seeking to enroll in this program must first contact the Veterans Association (VA) for prior authorization before making an appointment at the TMC. According to the Veterans Choice Program website, if a veteran is already enrolled in VA health care, he may be able to receive care from non-VA facilities, instead of waiting for a VA appointment or traveling to a VA facility. Veterans may be eligible if they have or will be waiting for more than 30 days for VA medical care, live more than 40 miles away from a VA medical care facility, or face excessive travel burdens.
