05 Sep Oh… W.O.W. Festival Comes to Telluride WOW!
Oh…W.O.W., Optimum Work Out Weekend, a health and wellness mashup, is the latest addition to Telluride’s packed summer/fall calendar. The freshman event, which takes place Thursday, September 19 – Sunday, September 22, is brought to you by locals Becca Tudor of Fuel Telluride (Nugget Building for privates: group classes at the base of Chair 7) and local businessman Albert Roer (of Telluride Properties and more.)
Becca has worked as a certified personal trainer and gyrotonic instructor for over 15 years. Her goal? To “identify with and educate my clients so they reach their highest potential in health, fitness, wellness and quality of life.”
The genesis of W.O.W. dates back about four years, when she and husband Narcis reminded themselves of a simple truth: physical (physiological and emotion) fitness is the key to success in whatever sports athletes in this town choose to follow.
Albert, a realtor and co-owner of the Telluride Yoga Center, became a true believer in the efficacy of a regular yoga practice following an injury in 2005. He is also a devoted client of Becca, whose strengthening routines have helped to improve his skiing.
Becca approached Albert with the idea for WOW less than one year ago and in the blink of an eye it was all systems go.
WOW’s menu of activities includes all kinds of sports training plus lectures hottest topics in the field of wellness.
“The intent of Telluride WOW is to bring like-minded people together to experience the love and appreciation of health and fitness,” said Becca. “Our goal is to create an exceptional weekend for people that want to either get started on a new fitness program or advance their skills in a variety of activities from adventure racing, boot camp, climbing, cross fit, cycling, Pilates, P90X, yoga, ZUMBA and more.”

Other instructors include Alyssa Saunders (Yoga for the Cyclist); Teri Sutton (Zumba), Sharon Caplan (Le Cercle, King Yoga), Lynn Mayer (Nutrition), Hilaree O’Neill (Peak Summiting); Mark Campbell 0f Peak Performance (Back Pain and Trigger Point Needling); and, of course, Becca herself (FUEL: the total body workout).
