“Silver and gold, silver and gold, everyone wishes for silver and gold.”

Those are the lyrics to the famed Burl Ives Christmas song. The words are also in a song from the movie “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.” And they are a holiday mantra: Every lady is now hoping for a little silver and gold in her wardrobe.

Metallics are the talk of the town, adding flash and dash from head to toe.

From Vera Wang’s silver sparkle platform pumps to Kate Spade’s gold glitter bow topped peep-toes, feet are my favorites for highlighting the trend. Invest in a pair of silver or gold shoes to make any outfit a party outfit.

Moving up the (shapely of course) leg, gold and silver hues highlight jeans this season. Current/Elliot leads the way with silver coated skinnys and gold-dusted straight legs that can be worn casual by day with cozy cashmere tees, or dressed up for parties with camisoles and ruffle tops.

If you prefer that  your sparkle tops things off, Bailey 44 offers tons of silver and gold options from an open-back gold drape top to a silver-striped ruched tunic.

And of course, holiday jewelry is an easy way to add the look of the moment to your ensemble. Long gold chain earrings and silver-studded cuffs are must-haves. (And they make great holiday gifts!)
