23 Aug FASHION FRIDAY: PRINTED JEANS
Thought the trend would end by the time the leaves turned? Think again. A pair of intensely printed jeans, so popular in spring and summer, is among fall 2012’s hottest trend.
I admit it. I too was skeptical at first. In fact, I still don’t own a pair myself. (Not yet anyway.) But it’s time for you and me to get on board with the latest trend that isn’t going away.
Boldly patterned printed jeans – and the choices range from animal to ethnic, watercolor and florals – add pizzazz and color to the darker days of fall and winter. A fun alternative to go-to blue denim, the look can be styled for day or night.
At Two Skirts, the paisley cords sold out, though personally I found them to be a bit too fourth grade. But there are other more sophisticated options in store now. Take the Paige Verdugo jegging in estate green. (The name itself sounds cultivated and the print is calming in its subtle green and brown motif.) They look just great right now with camel patent ballet flats and later with a brown leather boot.
And while we are on the subject of accessorizing printed jeans, I suggest you allow the prints and the colors to pop, but keep the rest of the outfit super simple and clean. The best way to wear the busy jean is with a sold, subdued top, but you can still have some fun with one colorful accessory such as a shoe, a statement boot, a skinny belt or bright bag.
And you can print that.
