YOUR AH HAA MOMENT: INTIMATE ARTIST TALK + AUCTION

Ever been mesmerized by a painting but wished you knew where the artist’s inspiration came from? Perhaps it was a piece of jewelry that puzzled you with its intricate form. Wonder no more!

Thursday July 19, 5 – 7 p.m., the Ah Haa School for the Arts hosts an Artist Talk. The event is a warm up for our 20th annual art auction, Cirque d’Ah Haa, which takes place Friday, July 20, starting 6 p.m.

Art Talk and Auction is a special opportunity for art lovers to connect with professional artists in an intimate and interactive forum. Hosted by nationally renowned painter Robert Weatherford, whose floral work is now on display at the Telluride Gallery of Fine Art, works by five artists are featured.

Each artist represents a different medium to showcase the Ah Haa School’s commitment to all forms of visual art and individual creative expression. They are: Michelle Curry Wright (mixed media), Michelle Montague (ceramics), Sally Simpson (jewelry), Corinne Scheman (painting) and Ryan Bonneau (photography). Through this event, enthusiasts are able to relate to each of them on a personal level and connect with the art in a warm and fuzzy setting.

After each artist reviews his or her works and processes, guests get to bid on these pieces during a live auction.

If you are unable to attend, we welcome you to come in to Ah Haa, 300 South Townsend, to check out the work.

We offer absentee bidding on all the items and you will be able to place silent and live auction bids for items in Friday’s event too.

Proceeds from the auction are critical to funding scholarships, adult and youth programs, supplies, equipment and instructors.

Tickets are $25 per person and include wine and canapés.They are available at the door.
