17 Jul YOUR AH HAA MOMENT: CIRQUE D’AH HAA & THURSDAY ART SHOW
Come one. Come all. Ladies and gentlemen. Children of all ages…
Friday, July 20, 2012, Ah Haa performs one heck of a sleight of hand: the community center and art school transforms into a circus, specifically Cirque d’Ah Haa, the theme of our 20th annual fine art auction.
The action under the Big Top features local and international fine art, extravagant trips, great people-watching, and creative entertainment.
On the runway at the live auction, the main event, is an unreleased Michael Ward Beatles print, a Cirque d’Ah Haa-themed Las Vegas trip, a custom built electric guitar designed by Derek Tuohy and painted by Danielle DeRoberts, and Adirondack chairs designed and painted by local teenagers. Want to cruise around town in high style? How about your own custom Stella Scooter & Sidecar? Would you like to rub elbows with the stars you pretend not to notice when you pass them on Main Street? We’ve got a trip to Los Angeles to attend the Grammy Awards and Official Awards After Party.
Your ringmasters are none other than Telluride personalities Jeb Berrier and Beth Roberts Kelly.
The silent auction also rocks with everything from design pieces to spa treatments, paintings, festival passes, photographs, activity-filled adventures, jewelry, and so much more.
The fun and games begin at 6 p at 300 South Townsend, but guests are encouraged to arrive early to browse the auction and to place their bids. Appetizers are included with your $25 admission, and there will be cash bars to keep everyone well lubricated.
For deeply committed art lovers and collectors, however, the festivities kick off tomorrow, Thursday July 19, when Ah Haa is hosting a special event featuring an artist talk in an intimate setting followed by an exclusive auction of the work. On hand will be Michelle Curry Wright, Michelle Montague, Sally Simpson, Corinne Scheman and Ryan Bonneau, artists who represent different mediums to showcase Ah Haa’s commitment to all forms of individual creative expression.
Doors open Thursday evening at 5 p.m. Wine and appetizers are provided with your $25 admission.
