01 May YOUR AH HAA MOMENT: SILENT AUCTION REQUESTS DONATIONS
Summer is not here yet and the Ah Haa School for the Arts is already gearing up for our annual art auction fundraiser, a popular community event celebrating it’s 20th year!
For 20 years artists and individuals near and far have donated work to support Ah Haa’s mission. Their generous donations are the focus of the evening’s celebration and the work displays the diversity and talent of the schools’ support system and the fondness everyone has for this beloved Telluride institution.
Each year we try to showcase the artwork in an environment that allows each piece to be seen and appreciated (and hopefully bid on). This year, I am happy to say we’ve come up with a great idea to give even more exposure to our artists. We are transforming the silent art portion of the event to a full three-week exhibition. Works that comprise the silent auction will be on display in the Daniel Tucker Gallery from Thursday, July 5, right up to the auction on Friday July 20.
An opening reception for this unique show will be held in conjunction with the Telluride Arts’ First Thursday Art Walk in July. Bidding begins that evening and continues through the evening of the auction. This is a high traffic time in Telluride and Ah Haa is in full swing, which translates to more people seeing the work.
Ah Haa is currently accepting donations for the 2012 fundraiser now. Click on the images in this post to see the caliber of work and artists that have donated in the past.
