19 Jan FASHION FRIDAY: SUNSHINE YELLOW FOR JANUARY BLUES
Spring collections are arriving to stores, but spring break is months away. While the grey skies deliver the much anticipated snow to the mountains, the chilly weather is nearly omnipotent, from DC to Boston, San Francisco to Denver. With the thermostat at 30 degrees and the calender on January, how does one add a little heat to combat the January blues? Easy…enter yellow.
Sunshine yellow is a perfect way to brighten to your winter wardrobe. The saturated sunshine color is a far cry from butter (which should be saved for a spring luncheon). It’s bright enough to make you feel sunny, yet subtle enough to blend with your favorite winter hues of grey, olive and navy. Use it as a pop of color under an olive blazer, or show it all off on top paired with blue jeans and boots. Minnie Rose takes the color to the max with a “sol” long sleeve fitted cotton sweater, perfect for now or later. The best punch comes from their sol and white striped Pow Wow top in easy cotton. Love it now with grey jeans and an infinity scarf, later with white shorts and a pina colada!
