21 Dec YOUR AH HAA MOMENT: NEW YEAR’S EVE
New Year’s Eve, the Ah Haa School for the Arts is the place to be for one of the holiday season’s best bashes: a celebration of fine food, fine wine, and fine art, all at the historic Depot Building. This year the featured artist is Judy Haas.
Judy Haas has pretty tony bona fides, having presented her work at solo shows in New York, London and Houston. Her clients have included Patagonia, The Nature Company, Sage Rods, and Morgan Stanley. Her trout and botanical pastels hang in numerous collections around the world, from foreign embassies to corporations. Judy works in a number of different mediums, including pastels and ceramics. She has even designed (award-winning) homes. All of Judy’s work is inspired by nature.

Ah Haa’s NYE gala takes place December 31, 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. We open with a champagne reception and hors d’oeuvres, then we move on to a four-course dinner catered by Chef Eliza Gavin of 221 South Oak. Guest Sommelier Chris Ryerson has chosen equally impressive wine pairings to accompany the banquet, plus a selection of fine and unique wines for silent auction. Ryerson has worked as a sommelier and wine director at award-winning restaurants including chef Thomas Keller’s adored Per Se Restaurant in New York and Oliveto Restaurant and Cafe, one of the best and oldest farm-to-table restaurants in the San Francisco Bay area.
Ah Haa’s New Year Eve gala is a benefit for the non-profit art school that, for 20 years, has served as a safe haven for young and adult to experience their inner artist, chef, Fred Astaire, and more.
Tickets ,$250 per person, are available at the Ah Haa School, 300 South Townsend or by calling 970.728.3886.
