October is Breast Cancer Awareness and Domestic Violence Provention Month. Just one of the reasons the Ah Haa School for the Arts chose October to be their Art of Being A Woman Month. We use the entire month of October to celebrate the female spirit in the arts. From special exhibitions and discounted workshops by women to hosting LUNAFEST. This national traveling film festival’s program of nine selected films will compel discussion, make you laugh, tug at your heartstrings and motivate you to make a difference in your community. Incredibly diverse in style and content, LUNAFEST is united by a common thread of exceptional storytelling – by, for and about women.
Partial proceeds from LUNAFEST support the Breast Cancer Fund, a national organization and the San Miguel Resource Center, our amazing local non-profit organization. The Ah Haa School for the Arts will be hosting LUNAFEST and a reception, next Thursday, October 13 starting at 7pm. Join us for an evening of inspiration, positive energy and just plain fun. You will be supporting a great cause and our community.
