Get anywhere near this human tornado and you will be blown away – this time to Mexico.
Annie’s eclectic yoga resume includes studying the vigorous practice of Ashtanga Yoga in India with the head of the lineage, Pattabhi Jois. She completed several teacher training sessions with Jois devotee Richard Freeman, and has worked closely for years with Nancy Stechert, a senior instructor and her primary mentor today, in alignment-based Iyengar yoga.
In Annie’s classes – the retreat in Mexico will be no different – the focus is always on the therapeutic aspects of the ancient science, or yoga chikitsa. The goal of yoga chikitsa is to realign the spine, detoxify the body, build strength, flexibility and stamina. Annie’s classes emphasize breath work to integrate the mind and body and include an basic understanding of the philosophy behind the ancient art and science of Yoga established about 5,000 years ago.
The retreat at Maya Tulum welcomes students at all levels of practice, from beginner to more advanced yoginis.
