Fashion Friday: Platform sandals

This week, Telluride Inside… and Out’s fashionista Kristin Holbrook of Two Skirts is on her soapbox about platform shoes, focusing on sandals for the Spring/Summer season.

Over the past century, platforms have stepped into almost every decade, but really made an imprint in the 1970s on the disco scene. Today the look as translated at Two Skirts has been tamed, with an emphasis on sophistication. WikiHow posted a column about “How to Wear Platform Shoes,” suggesting “Plats work well for people who are a bit on the short side. They give you a bit of extra height that’s easy to walk in…”
and “The secret to making platforms work is to keep them a bit on the understated side.”
