12 Oct Mountain Village: Gondola Operating Dates Extended Into Shoulder Seasons!
The Town of Mountain Village and Telluride Mountain Village Owners Association (TMVOA) have extended the gondola’s operating time frame this fall, as well as summer and fall 2027, in order to support regional businesses and the community at large.
Gondola Schedule At-A-Glance:
● Fall 2026: Last day of service Sunday, October 25, 2026
● Winter 2026-27: Friday, November 20 through Sunday, April 4, 2027

This fall, the gondola will operate through Sunday, October 25, one week later than the typical fall schedule. It will then open for the winter season on Friday, November 20 and run daily through April 4, 2027, the end of the ski season.
Next spring, the gondola will open a week earlier than the Thursday before Memorial Day, which has been the traditional opening day. With Memorial Day falling on the last day of May in 2027, the earlier opening date gives the community a head start on the summer season. Summer service will run Thursday, May 20, 2027 through Sunday, October 24, 2027, with the fall closing again extended by a week.
“Opening the gondola earlier than usual is a real boost for our local businesses and a great way to kick off the summer season,” said Mountain Village Mayor Scott Pearson. “Those extra days in spring and fall mean more visitors, more foot traffic and more opportunity for the shops, restaurants and lodging partners that make our community special.”
“When we asked our businesses whether a longer season would help, the answer was a clear yes,” said Paul Zoidis, Chairman of the TMVOA Board of Directors. “TMVOA is funding the extra weeks, and we’re pairing them with events and programming so there’s plenty to do when visitors get here. More open doors and more life in the village is what our mission of a vibrant economy and community is all about.”
The expanded schedule reflects Mountain Village and TMVOA’s commitment to supporting local businesses by lengthening the seasons that matter most to them.
