Grab your lederhosen and dirndls and join the Town of Mountain Village for the return of Oktoberfest, expanding this year into a full weekend celebration from Friday, October 9 through Sunday, October 11.
General admission – including the festival market, live music, family activities, the Puppy Parade and the Auf-mazing Race – is free.
Beer Garden access is $30 per person and includes two beer tokens, a dedicated pour station and live music from the tent stages. Reserved Tent Seating is $60 per person, with three sessions available: 11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 5 p.m.Those tickets include two beer tokens and a shared, family-style German smorgasbord.

Heritage Plaza and the Village Center will transform into a high-alpine Bavarian setting, bringing the classic German fall festival tradition back to the San Juans.
Saturday, October 10 is the festival’s headline day: the festival family activities run 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Heritage Plaza’s Bavarian Village; live music and the beer garden run noon to 8 p.m. in Conference Center Plaza; and the day includes the Kid’s Auf-mazing Race, kids’ activities; kinder lunches at the Mountain Village restaurants; and the Puppy Parade & Costume Contest with Second Chance Humane Society.
The weekend wraps up Sunday, October 11 with an Oktoberfest Brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Dunton Kitchen and the self-guided Adult Auf-mazing Beverage Tasting, noon to 6 p.m.
Under the festival tent, guests will find Bavarian grazing boards built for sharing at reserved lunch and dinner seatings, alongside pretzels, bratwurst and more throughout the beer garden.
“After last year’s successful Oktoberfest relaunch, we are thrilled to bring the festivities to Mountain Village for the entire weekend this year,” said Business Development Manager Molly Norton. “There’s still time to order your costumes and come celebrate the fall season with authentic German traditions, great food and the stunning backdrop of our San Juan Mountains.”
The beer garden, located in Conference Center Plaza, will pour a lineup of German and regional breweries including Paulaner and Hofbräu, alongside German wines, Colorado ciders and Telluride Distilling cocktails such as Autumnal Mules and Maple Old Fashioneds.
Live music runs throughout the day – a live Bavarian oompah band, alpine-inspired acoustic performers and stein-holding contests are on “tap” to entertain the crowds. Young festival-goers can also join classic Oktoberfest games in Heritage Plaza, from pretzel necklace and cookie decorating to lively potato sack races and musical chair activities.
The celebration welcomes all ages, though the beer garden and tent will only be available to those 21 and older. Attendees are encouraged to embrace the spirit by wearing traditional dirndls, lederhosen or cozy fall layers appropriate for the mountain setting.
