Telluride Science, Telluride Foundation, MT2030, and EcoAction Partners are hosting a free community event at the Telluride Innovation Center. The evening will feature presentations and a panel discussion with local practitioners and regional leaders,. That is followed by an open Q&A for community members to engage directly with the speakers. The free public event on September 2 at 6 pm will showcase how collaboration across communities is accelerating real climate solutions

What if Telluride didn’t have to figure out climate action alone? That’s the idea behind Mountain Towns 2030 (MT2030). On Wednesday, September 2 the public is invited to hear the story firsthand.
From Breckenridge to Ridgway, towns like ours are grappling with the same climate challenges: limited staff, tight budgets, and a sense that the window to act is narrowing. Mountain Towns 2030 was founded on the belief that the solutions already exist and just need to travel faster. By connecting local governments, ski resorts, and rural communities across a collaborative network, MT2030 helps towns share proven approaches, avoid duplicating effort, and move from idea to implementation at a pace none of them could achieve alone.
Panelists include Jessica Burley, Sustainability Manager for the Town of Breckenridge and John Clark, Mayor of Ridgway, alongside MT2030 Executive Director Chris Steinkamp.
“96% of local leaders cite limited staffing and bandwidth as the number one barrier to climate action,” said Steinkamp. “Our network exists to change that, giving communities the tools, connections, and momentum to scale climate solutions faster than they ever could alone.”
