DID YOU KNOW?
Fast fashion accounts for 10% of all global carbon emissions? That is more than all international flights and maritime shipping combined (UNEP). The fashion industry is also the 2nd biggest industrial consumer of water globally even though these garments are only worn on average 7-10 times before being disposed of. Astonishingly, it is estimated that a garbage truck’s worth of textiles are either put in the landfill or incinerated every second leading to less than 1% of textiles being recycled into new clothing on a global level. (Source: Ellen MacArthur Foundation, European Parliament, UNEP)
The good news is there are many ways you can be a part of the solution! From education and awareness to policy and behavior change.
Living in a small, isolated mountain town can make these solutions feel unattainable – insert Full Circle Fashion Fundraiser– an opportunity for you to participate in closing the loop on textiles, giving new life to your old favorites, conserving water, minimizing environmental impact and connecting with your community over new fashion finds!
