The Telluride Library, with assistance from Between the Covers Bookstore, invites everyone to come together for an evening of conversation with Heather Hansman about her new book, “FIERCE COUNTRY: The Untold Story of Three Women Who Ignited America’s Love for the Wild.” The event takes place Monday, July 20th at 5:30 pm.
Between the Covers will be at the event selling books and Heather will be available to sign them after the talk.

“FIERCE COUNTRY: The Untold Story of Three Women Who Ignited America’s Love for the Wild” is an inspiring, untold work about three incredible women who spearheaded recreation, conservation and resilience in America’s most beloved landscapes, for readers of Pam Houston and David Grann
In the spring of 1945, when just a handful of people had been through the Grand Canyon in boats, Georgie White jumped into the river in just a lifejacket and swam through the rapids.
