The Telluride Housing Authority (THA) is now accepting applications for the newly established Tenant Advisory Committee, a resident-led group created to strengthen communication between tenants living in Town-managed rental housing and Town leadership.
The committee will be established through updates to the Telluride Employee Rental Housing Policies, adopted today, Tuesday, May 19, 2026, following direction from Town Council and the THA Board to create a more formal process for resident feedback, advocacy, and collaboration.
The Tenant Advisory Committee will provide a structured opportunity for residents to share concerns, discuss operational and policy-related topics, and help ensure tenant perspectives are integrated into Town decision-making processes related to rental housing.
“This committee is intended to create a consistent and constructive line of communication between residents and the Town,” said Telluride Housing Authority Chair Elena Levin. “The goal is to help residents feel heard while creating a collaborative space to discuss housing-related topics that impact daily life in Town-managed housing.”
The committee will include seven resident representatives from Town-managed rental housing projects, including:
• Three representatives from Shandoka Apartments
• One representative each from Sunnyside, Virginia Placer, Voodoo Apartments, and the Boardinghouse
Committee members will serve staggered terms and receive a quarterly rent credit for participation. Meetings will be open to the public and held at least four times annually. Spanish translation services will also be made available whenever possible.
Eligible residents interested in serving on the committee are encouraged to apply during the application period which ends Wednesday, June 17 at 5:00 pm MDT. Applications will be reviewed by the THA Board, with appointments expected later this summer.
