Telluride Arts is pleased to announce the opening of its 2026 Direct Grants Program, a suite of funding opportunities made possible by the generous support of CCAASE and designed to support local artists, foster community engagement, and strengthen the creative ecosystem across the region.

The 2026 grant cycle opened March 30 at 10:00 AM (MST), with applications due by May 1 at 11:50 PM (MST). Awardees will be announced on Friday, May 15, 2026.

Telluride Arts’ Direct Grants program provides funding across multiple categories, supporting a wide range of artistic practices—from visual and performing arts to music, literary, film, and media-based work. All grants prioritize projects that demonstrate artistic merit, feasibility, and meaningful community impact. Total funding amount (excluding Augment Grants) is $17,400.

Founded in 2020, Augment Music Project supports the local music scene in the Telluride area through artist grants, free community concerts, and nonprofit partnerships, uplifting the musicians who call this region home. Individual grants of up to $2,000 are available, with total funding of up to $10,000 offered annually.

Telluride Arts offers several distinct funding opportunities:

Arts for Art’s Sake Grants

Supporting publicly presented visual and performing arts projects that enrich the community
• 1st Place: $3,000
• 2nd Place: $2,000
• 3rd Place: $1,500

Community Engagement Grant

Supporting programming created for and hosted within the Telluride community
• Award: $2,000
• Honorable Mention: up to $450

Professional Development Grant

Supporting skill-building and capacity-enhancing opportunities for artists
• Award: $2,000
• Honorable Mention: up to $450

Flash Grants (Ongoing)

Supporting small-scale projects with clear community benefit
• Individual awards typically range from $250–$500
• Grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis
• A total of $6,000 is available annually
• Funding will be distributed throughout the year until funds are fully allocated

Augment Music Grants (supported by Augment Music Project)

Augment supports local music in Telluride through artist grants, free community concerts and non-profit partnerships.
• Awards up to $2,000 (Total funding: $10,000)

Eligibility & Application

Applicants must live or work in the Telluride region. Telluride Arts defines “artist” broadly, welcoming applications from visual artists, performers, musicians, writers, filmmakers, designers, and interdisciplinary creators.

Applications are reviewed through a competitive, blind jury process, with funding decisions based on artistic quality, community benefit, and project feasibility. Applications can be submitted through Telluride Arts’ website: telluridearts.org/grant-opportunities.

Applications are available in both English and Spanish.
