On February 21, Telluride Theatre will host a free event featuring several local arts organizations and local artists. The goal: raising funds for the Telluride Foundation’s “Good Neighbor Fund.”
The event is titled “Good Neighbor Night” and will feature music and entertainment from Telluride Choral Society, Telluride Chamber Music, Telluride Dance Collective, Sheridan Arts Foundation’s Young People’s Theatre, The Fig, Telluride Arts, Telluride Theatre’s “Ski Bum The Musical,” and several local artists and musicians.

As Telluride Theatre wrapped its 2025 season, the Telluride Ski Resort closure and Ski Patrol strike was still ongoing. Concerned about the community’s morale and uncertainty in that moment, TT’s Artistic Director Sasha Cucciniello and Executive Director Ryan Heidenreich brainstormed ways the theatre could organize an event that would both bring people together, celebrate our community and raise funds for the Telluride Foundation’s Good Neighbor Fund. They landed on the idea of a performance featuring several local arts nonprofits and performers, as a way to celebrate the vibrant arts community of Telluride, while bringing everyone together to celebrate the good in our community.
“This is a free event for the community, by the community to celebrate our community,” says Heidenreich. “We are very blessed to have so many talented, hard-working artists and organizations collaborating to bring a night of celebration to our box canyon.”
During the Telluride Town Council meeting on Tuesday, January 6, community members were discussing the impacts of the ski resort closure. Heidenreich pitched the community event benefiting the Good Neighbor Fund as part of the meeting’s Public Comments. Since then, Telluride Theatre has assembled an impressive lineup of performers for the one-night-only evening of music and comedy.
Among the performances, several highlights include:
A song from “Ski Bum The Musical,” Telluride Theatre’s smash-hit 2024 Holiday Musical
Songs from “Guys and Dolls” performed by the high schoolers from the Young People’s Theatre
Comedy scenes performed by local actors from The Fig, and a scene written and performed by Suzanne Cheavens
Live jazz piano by Kenny Goldman from Telluride Chamber Music
A song performed by Telluride Choral Society
A dance piece performed by Telluride Dance Collective
A dance piece performed by Palm Dance
A live art demo presented by Telluride Arts
Live music performed by local artists, including Miguel Ambriz, Meghan Knowles, and more
There will be a cash bar at the event. Donation stations will be set up around the Elks Lodge in support of Telluride Foundation’s Good Neighbor Fund.
The Telluride Foundation established the Good Neighbor Fund in 2003 to provide emergency assistance to local families and individuals with limited resources in times of financial crises. The Fund achieves this by giving one-time hardship grants to assist with specific qualified needs, including housing, food, transportation, and medical care.
Applications during just the first 10 days of January 2026 were a 150% increase compared to 2025 numbers.
RSVPs are encouraged for the event via Telluride Theatre’s website. RSVP registrants have the option to donate to the Telluride Foundation’s Good Neighbor Fund during their RSVP registration, but are not required to do so.
