Telluride, Colorado is the epicenter for the largest wild mushroom festival happening in North America. Plans are now buttoned for the 46th annual Telluride Mushroom Festival or TMF, August 12 – August 16 , 2026.

Before the screens, before the signals, before the voices that traveled through wires, we lived by weather and firelight. We knew the names of plants by touch. We learned time by shadow and season. We belonged to the land, not as owners, but as kin.
That memory has not disappeared.
It lays in wait within each of our cells.
It lives in the ache just beneath our busyness and fatigue from constant connection. It is present in the uneasy pause when we feel distrust in what we see and hear. It stirs when our hands return to soil and we walk without destination. It awakens when we gather without devices between us and when remember how to look one another in the eye.
The wild has not left us, we have simply forgotten how to listen.
Rewilding is not a return to an untouched past. The world has changed. Rivers have been rerouted. Entire climates have shifted. Ecosystems weakened. What was broken cannot be made whole, in the same way, again.
But wildness adapts.
To rewild now is to remember how to be in relationship to land, to fungi, to one another, as it is now. To gather. To share stories. To learn what still thrives, what can be restored, and what new forms of balance are waiting to emerge.
In 2026, we gather to listen, to explore. to connect, and to remember together what it means to rewild.
