Directed by Akiva Schaffer (Chip ’n Dale: Rescue Rangers), “The Naked Gun” (2025) reintroduces audiences to one of cinema’s most iconic comedy franchises. With Liam Neeson in the role of Detective Frank Drebin, the film balances fresh humor with affectionate nods to the series’ legacy. The reboot reinvigorates the franchise with sharp writing, bold performances, and the signature blend of slapstick and satire that made “The Naked Gun” a cultural touchstone.

“The Naked Gun is back and funnier than ever—a masterclass in spoof done right.”– Rolling Stone

Village Film Nights provides a vital space for community film programming while the Nugget Theater undergoes renovation. The historic Nugget Building, located in downtown Telluride, is currently being transformed into a year-round cinema arts venue for film, education, and public events as part of the Nugget Project, led by the Telluride Film Festival.

This summer series in Mountain Village is made possible through the generous support of TMVOA, which helps fund cultural and community programming across the region.

All Village Film Nights selections are curated by the Telluride Film Festival.
