Based in Telluride, Mountainfilm is now accepting film submissions for the 2026 festival. Submissions opened Monday, September 22 and close Monday, January 5.

Since 1979, Mountainfilm has used the power of film, art and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world, and we couldn’t do it without filmmakers like you.
Mountainfilm is officially an Academy Award® Qualifying festival in the Documentary Short Film category.
Applicants will need a FilmFreeway account to submit your project to be considered for the 48th annual festival. Before you submit, visit the Mountainfilm website for submission guidelines and FAQs.
Festival Dates: May 21 – 25, 2026.

Commitment Grants and Emerging Filmmaker Fellowship. Your submission fee is assisting filmmakers with production and post-production support!
