Below please find Lisa’s note and photographic take on the 45th annual Telluride Mushroom Fest. The event was mind-expanding and eye-popping – even if the shrooms themselves remained stealth.

“Only a few tiny mushrooms to be found after a dry summer, but that didn’t stop this year’s Mushroom Festival from being one of the best in its 45-year history. Instead of filling our baskets with boletes and chanterelles, we forayed to draw the forest; to somewhat hilariously cook button mushrooms from Clark’s for a field demonstration; to sing and orate about fungi on stage; to learn about all manner of scientific properties of mycelium from a global group of experts; and as always to parade in glorious costumes singing We Love Mushrooms! down Main Street and into Town Park. Here are a few glimpses of the fun,” explained Lisa.
