The Board of Directors of Telluride Arts is pleased to announce the appointment of Jessica Galbo as the

“We are thrilled to welcome Jessica to Telluride Arts,” says Edward A. (Ned) Powell, Chairperson of the Telluride Arts Board of Directors.”Jessica’s leadership experience, passion for the arts and our community, and strong track
record of impact make her an outstanding choice to lead our organization into its next chapter.”

Most recently the Executive Director of the Telluride AIDS Benefit (TAB), Galbo is known for guiding that organization’s strategic direction and deepening its community partnerships.

“While we’re sad to see Jessica transition out of her role at TAB, we’re thrilled she’s continuing to shape the cultural and civic life of Telluride through her new position at Telluride Arts. This is a win for the entire community,” said Cynthia Sommers, TAB, Board President. “Jessica led TAB through a period of tremendous growth, innovation, and community impact. We are grateful for her leadership and proud of all she’s accomplished during her time with us.”

“Jessica is a values-driven leader with a clear vision for the future of Telluride Arts,” adds Powell.“She brings to the role a wealth of nonprofit leadership experience from her recent tenure with TAB and is known for her passion, organizational clarity, and deep devotion to the Telluride community – its people, stories, and enduring creative spirit. We are confident in her ability to carry forward our mission with integrity and innovation and are very excited to work with her in the reinvigoration of Telluride Arts.”

“I’ve had the privilege of serving this community in many ways over the years,” Galbo said. “Stepping into this role at  Telluride Arts, an organization with over 50 years of supporting the arts community, is both an honor and a responsibility. My priority for this next chapter is collaborating with all stakeholders to create a shared vision to uplift the arts and shape the next iteration of Telluride Arts. This includes a thoughtful, community-informed path forward for the Transfer Warehouse. The arts have always been a powerful force for connection and vitality in Telluride. I’m honored to help carry that legacy into its next phase.”

Galbo’s appointment follows a comprehensive search, conducted by a committee of the TA’s  board of directors,
chaired by Penelope Gleason.

“We had a strong pool of talented applicants. Jessica stood out for her understanding of the community; her organizational leadership experience; and her ability to bring people together around shared purpose. The decision to hire her was unanimous.”

Telluride Arts extends its deep appreciation to outgoing Executive Director Gene Sobczak, whose decades of
experience, strategic leadership, and steady stewardship have laid a firm foundation for this moment of transition and stabilization.

“It has been an honor to serve Telluride Arts,” said Sobczak. “This organization holds a vital place in the community, and I believe Jessica is exactly the right person to carry its mission forward with vision, integrity, and care.”
