Coffee & Climate Conversations

How can our whole community be represented in environmental conversations? How is the well-being of our community intertwined with the well-being of our more-than-human natural world? This Immigrant Heritage Month, we will explore the topic of how immigrant and historically underrepresented communities have long been stewards of the land, and how their knowledge, resilience, and lived experiences are essential to building just and sustainable futures. Dive into a conversation about what environmental justice looks like in our community, how we can give a voice to human and more than human beings that have historically been voiceless in these movements, and gain an understanding that true climate solutions must be rooted in equity, cultural wisdom, and collective care. Gather and discuss this important topic over free coffee, tea and pastries!

Call for Compost team at this year’s Bluegrass Festival

In search of tickets to next month’s Bluegrass festival? Curious about curbing greenhouse gas emissions through waste diversion? Want to give back to this pristine mountain landscape? Join EcoAction’s CRT (compost, recycling, trash) team at this year’s Telluride Bluegrass Festival. Enjoy music in the mountains while educating festival goers on where to dispose of their waste. Volunteering for the CRT team gets you free festival passes! Reach out to Tyler and zerowaste@ecoactionpartners.org for more information.

While you’re at the festival, come by the EcoAction Partners booth in Harmony Green to learn more about local sustainability initiatives, win prizes and enjoy solar oven baked cookies!

Wool go the Distance for Climate Action

EcoAction Partners along with Sheep Mountain Alliance are teaming up for June’s Hikathon, a month-long challenge brought to our community by the Telluride Rotary club. Their goal is to raise funds in support of critical environmental justice programming for our region. The combined team titled “Wool go the Distance” is made up of dedicated staff and board members who are committed to get outside this June, going the distance for climate action during a time where funds are on the chopping block. One can support this upcoming month’s challenge by joining their team, pledging per mile to one of the team members, donating a flat rate to the cause, joining for a hike or cheering them on!
