Musicfest artists, 2025!

MusicFest 2025 kicks off on June 26 and runs through July 6. Spanning 10 days, MusicFest is a celebration of world-class chamber music and innovative programming, held in a beautiful private home overlooking Sunshine Mountain, with added events in downtown Telluride.

MusicFest launched in 2003 and has partnered with Telluride Chamber Music since 2022. MusicFest 2025 brings back favorite musicians from last year: Co-Artistic Directors Kathryn Lockwood (viola) and Yousif Sheronick (percussion) of duoJalal; violinists Deborah Buck and Min-Young Kim; cellist Caroline Stinson; and pianist Orion Weiss. Featured concerts at “Summer Soirees@6” take the audience on a tour of different countries.

The opening concert on June 29th is German-themed, titled “A die Musik.” The program is tribute to the profound emotional and spiritual power of music and the rich musical legacy of German and Austrian composers. Featuring are works by Bach, Beethoven, Berg, Mendelssohn, and Schumann.

Celebrating the vibrant rhythms and rich musical heritage of Latin America, “South of the Border” turns up the heat on July 2nd with a colorful journey through the music of Mexico, Puerto Rico, Panama, Uruguay, Paraguay, Cuba, Argentina, and Brazil.

The grand finale of MusicFest 2025 returns to Europe with a sun-drenched celebration of Italian music. Titled “Amami d’estate—Love Me in the Summer,” the program honors the timeless passion and artistry of Italy’s greatest composers and composers inspired by Italy.

These concerts are all held at the gorgeous home of Anne & Vincent Mai – a restored barn with unparalleled views of Sunshine Mountain. Offering an intimate and unique experience, each concert is further enhanced by themed receptions and a chance to socialize with the musicians.

In addition to the main concerts, MusicFest also offers three community events.

A “Family Concert” (free admission) by MusicFest Artists will be held at Wilkinson Public Library on July 1st at 2pm. Taking the audience on a musical trip around the world, this is a program that will excite and educate the young listener (and all ages alike!).

On Tuesday July 1st at 6pm, “Local Artists Night” is a celebration of musicians in our community. This free event offers a chance for instrumentalists and vocalists of all levels and genres to share their music at this special event held at the Mai house. Email telluridechambermusic@gmail.com to get involved!

AND…

“Rhythm for the Healing Arts” is a chance to get hands-on at a one-hour Frame Drum workshop presented by world renowned percussionist Yousif Sheronick.

This special event place on June 26th, 5pm, at the Sheridan Opera House and is suitable for all levels. The workshop will explore the ancient and transformative art of the frame drum, teaching participants playing techniques which engage the mind, body and voice, on an instrument that dates back 5000 years.
