What would our community and environmental spaces look like without environmental programming?

Here in the San Juans, we have the privilege of stewarding one of the most breathtaking natural environments in the country. Our community has long been a leader in conservation, civic activism, and ensuring access to outdoor recreation. For years, EcoAction Partners (EAP) and Sheep Mountain Alliance (SMA) have worked alongside our neighbors to protect what makes our region extraordinary—helping families reduce energy costs, connecting diverse community members to the outdoors, and empowering local voices in environmental policy.

Unfortunately, recent cuts in federal funding have placed critical climate programs at risk, including a $150,000 grant that supported wildfire and drought preparedness, public policy engagement, Spanish-language weatherization resources, youth climate leadership, and outdoor recreation opportunities for underrepresented groups. While this funding may return in the future, we cannot wait.

Your support is essential to ensuring these programs not only persist but thrive. Whether through donations, attending events, or participating in the public process, every effort makes a difference. We welcome the opportunity to discuss how your contribution can have the greatest impact.

Please reach out to us at director@ecoactionpartners.org or ruthie@sheepmountainalliance.org. Together, we can continue protecting our home and shaping a more sustainable future.
