Residents, visitors, and local businesses are encouraged to stop by, learn more about the planning process, and share their thoughts on potential improvements to the Telluride Gondola Station. Complimentary coffee and donuts will be provided and project representatives will be available to answer questions and collect feedback.
“This project is an opportunity to ensure the gondola station remains a seamless and sustainable part of Telluride’s transportation network,” said Town Manager Zoe Dohnal. “We want to enhance connectivity for all users, preserve the station’s historic character while integrating modern transit solutions, and create a space that meets the needs of both residents and visitors. Most importantly, public input will be key in shaping the future of this essential hub.”
The Telluride Gondola Station Planning project is led in partnership with Design Workshop, a Denver-based planning and design firm. Together with the Town, they will develop a long-term vision for the station that balances environmental, economic, community, and artistic values. Community input will be essential in identifying challenges and shaping future improvements.
While separate from the SMART gondola replacement project, this initiative complements that one by allowing the Town of Telluride to develop a broader vision for the Telluride Gondola Station and its future role and possible public uses for the community.
