28 Feb Telluride Jewish Community: “A Real Pain,” Telluride Science Center, 3/5!
The Telluride Jewish Community TJC) is now singing in harmony with two signature Telluride nonprofits: Film Festival and Mountainfilm, all three weighing in on the power of film in particular and the arts in general to open hearts and minds and create community, locally and ultimately globally.
“We decided to screen ‘A Real Pain’ as a benefit to the community because we believe in the power and importance of film and supporting the arts…,” said Sari Levy, who helms the organization. Later this summer, we have a film series planned, as well as an orchestral program and a bluegrass show. ‘A Real Pain’ is a just-for-fun event to get the ball rolling. The price of entry is just $12 which will help defray our costs, but we will happily comp anyone who finds it a struggle to pay.
Doors at 5 p.m.; show time is 5:30 p.m.
“A Real Pain” opened at the Telluride Film Festival in 2024. This encore takes place March 5 at the Telluride Science & Innovation Center.

“A Real Pain” is a dramedy starring Jesse Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin. Eisenberg also wrote and directed the film. The movie was inspired by a Holocaust survivor on Eisenberg’s family tree.
Critics praised “A Real Pain” for being funny, emotionally impactful, and showcasing Eisenberg’s talents as a writer, director, and actor. But many said Culkin stole the show with his quirky performance.
