EcoAction Partners: February 2025 Events!

The following is a note from EcoAction Partners about February 2025 events.

Go here for more on EcoAction Partners.

Join EcoAction  for “Healing with Her,” a FREE community conversation series at the Wilkinson Public Library. We will gather there for facilitated conversations and a poetry writing workshop designed to exploring the emotional impacts of our changing climate.

With warm drinks and snacks provided, this is a safe space to share and reflect on the complex feelings — grief, frustration, confusion, and more — that arise in response to the climate crisis.

Events this month will take place at the Wilkinson Public Library Magazine Room Wednesday, February 12th from 9am-10am and Tuesday, February 25th from 5:30pm-6:30pm.

A note from February’s facilitator Joanna Yonder:

“As we observe our changing planet, it’s normal to feel overwhelming emotions. This workshop invites you to truthfully experience those feelings through poetic practice. Here is why that’s revolutionary: all our lives, we are taught to ‘do something useful’ with our feelings. In this session, you’ll practice letting go of that preconception. We’ll explore how to thoughtfully FEEL something about the world around us and then express those feelings in a way that is meaningful to you and resonant to others, too. No emotion unwelcome, no poetic experience required, bring your biggest feelings.”

Coffee & Climate Conversations:

Join EcoAction Partners, Sheep Mountain Alliance, and the Wilkinson Public Library for our monthly coffee and climate conversations. These conversations are held on the last Thursday of every month in the WPL Magazine Room, 8:30-9:30am.

February’s conversation will be a discussion on the balance of tourism and sustainability. Can a tourism economy thrive and still keep the planet in mind? Can these two realities co-exist? Join for an insightful discussion on concerns, practical solutions and collaborative opportunities to ensure tourism supports a thriving planet and our vibrant community.

As always, there will be free coffee, tea and pastries.
