Hi all,
The 2024 Friends of the Library membership cards are back from the printer, so it’s a good time to join – or rejoin – FOL! You can download and print the application (attached) or pick one up at the library. Leave it with cash or a check at the main desk or mail it back. I’ll send your membership card/s to you, or I can leave it/them for you to pick up at the library if you prefer.
See the membership card (attached) for the discounts offered by our 29 local business partners this year. Note these new businesses participating in 2024: The Ah Haa School for the Arts, Counter Culture and Ophir Animal Camp. You’ll find all contact info, discount details and website links at www.telluridelibrary.org/fol.
FOL is a member-supported non-profit organization. Membership dues and donations are used to fulfill funds requests from library staff. Our gifts to the community through Telluride’s Wilkinson Public Library include:
a) One Book One Canyon (6 previous years) – free books for local readers + author appearances
2024: The Last Ranger by Peter Heller. Join us for his presentation in the Program Room on May 7.
b) StoryWalk on the River Trail
c) Self-checkout machine
d) 10 “Townie” bicycles
e) Mobile kitchen cart for cooking classes
f) “Read With Hart” Little Free Library, Placerville (beside the M&M Mercantile) – “Take a Book, Leave a Book” anytime.
Check out our webpage for a more complete list of “FOL Gifts to WPL”.
We continue to sell books at the library from the lobby shelves by the elevator, and we’re keeping them well stocked with a wide variety of titles. Have a look, buy a book! There’s a red box on the side of the bookshelf for donations, a significant source of our funding. Thanks!
Regards,
Nancy Landau,
FOL president
NOTE: We have an FOL Board position open. Let me know if you’d consider joining Carol Morgenstern, Pam McCreedy & me.
