06 Aug Telluride Museum: Update & Events!
The following is a note from the Telluride Museum family about events you won’t want to miss.
Go here for more about the Telluride Museum.
The days are warm and monsoon season is finally threatening here in Telluride. Here at the Telluride Historical Museum we are in full swing with our summer programming.
Although our August 5th hike is sold out you still have two chances to join us including August 19th, as we celebrate Sheep Mountain Alliance’s 35th birthday and delve into the history of our public lands. Departing the museum at 9am, this exciting hike will explore the lower half of Sneffels High. Tickets are available here.
Then, on September 23rd, we’ll be hosting a special jeep and hike excursion to the Corkscrew Gulch Turntable, led by mining historian Rudy Davison.
Check out our website for more information on either of these hikes.
You can also support the museum by purchasing tickets for our annual fundraiser, the Telluride Dinner Party, on August 24th on Town Park stage. This special evening will feature a festival-inspired cocktail hour, dinner, and speakers to celebrate the quirky history of Telluride’s festivals. We are already dreaming of the delicious creations by Jeff Rossi of Backcountry Catering who will be catering the event. This is going to be a truly unique night that you won’t want to miss!

It is with great pleasure that we are announcing the return of our fabulous “An Evening with Ken Burns” film screening! Join us on August 27th for a showing of “Brooklyn Bridge,” Burns’ very first documentary. The acclaimed director will be on hand for a post-screening Q&A. We’re thrilled to welcome him back after our three-year hiatus. You can purchase your tickets here.
Finally, many of our events – including the film screening and dinner party – are made possible through the generous help of our wonderful volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering for either of these events, please contact Director of Education and Outreach, Theresa Koenigsknecht at theresa@telluridemuseum.org. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Your Museum Family
