Second Chance Humane Society’s Animal Resource Center (SCHS) and Thrift Shops have been serving San Miguel, Ouray and Montrose Counties since 1994. The shelter is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5:30 pm. Community veterinary services are available by appointment.

Memorial Day weekend marked the grand opening of Second Chance Humane Society’s store in Telluride at 335 W Colorado Ave. After closing for the off-season, the store is now re-imagined, re-designed, and will better serve the community and Second Chance Humane Society’s mission of connecting pets, people, and community while saving lives.
The shop is now named Sit…Stay…Shop! The space is designed to be a relaxing place to sit, where one would like to stay awhile, and hopefully shop the carefully curated high-end clothing, jewelry, art, furniture, sporting goods, accessories, and collectibles. The new shop has space to host social functions, openings, and pet adoption events. The new hours are 11 am to 7 pm Thursday to Sunday.
At Sit..Stay…Shop! Second Chance accepts donations of quality, gently used adult clothing, art, collectibles, accessories, jewelry, sporting goods, and furniture from 12-5 Thursday-Sunday.
Donations of all kinds, including children’s clothes, toys, books, electronics & kitchenware are accepted at the Second Chance Ridgway donation center at 309 Sherman Street.
