“Over the last year we have been making operational and organizational changes and one of them is the decision to audition for and cast Shakespeare in the Park earlier. This way the cast will be able to start learning the language and lines and start rehearsals off-book,” said Artistic Director Sasha Cucciniello. “The early auditions will allow for more depth of work to happen in the rehearsal process. We are excited for this change and hope it will bring greater quality to the work.”
Those interested in auditioning are asked to bring an acting resume and headshot, be prepared to present 30-60 seconds of a special talent (juggling, whistling, singing, tap dancing etc.) and familiarize themselves with “Hamlet.” There will be sides available to read from during auditions.
Interested actors are also asked to present any scheduling conflicts during the rehearsal process. Rehearsals will run June 12-July 20, 2023 4-6 nights per week, and every night two weeks leading up to the show.
