The Telluride Academy board of directors and staff are thrilled to welcome Jason Merritt to the team as its new Executive Director.

Jason has lived and worked in the Telluride community for 30 years. He served 12 years at Telluride Ski Resort in various roles ranging from Human Resources Manager to Guest Services Manager and, most recently, he was Tour Director for Mountainfilm.

Jason has proven to be a highly competent leader, skilled in multitasking, and effective in communication and relationship building. He brings a proven track record of financial performance, program development, successful team management and achieving goals through collaboration and support.

“I am super excited and honored to have the opportunity to take a leadership position with Telluride Academy. It has been an institution in the Telluride community for over 40 years. Our family and countless others have relied upon the Academy for formative experiences connecting children with the outdoors.”

Jason also currently serves on the San Miguel County Open Space Commission.

For the past 43 years, Telluride Academy has built and grown on the founding mission to “Inspire children and teens through experiential education that promotes physical activity, creative learning, environmental stewardship, responsibility to others and positive life choices.”
