The Food & Nostalgia workshop gives students direct access in remote southwest Colorado to Iliana Regan’s culinary mastery and literary prowess. 

This is a rare chance to prepare both Regan’s and other student’s treasured recipes, while sharing memories of  dishes that inspired stories. With Regan’s second book release, “Fieldwork, A Forager’s Memoir,” Ah Haa School for the Arts proudly offers an intimate, four-day destination/educational experience. Iliana Regan is the Michelin-star chef and former/chef owner of Elizabeth Restaurant in Chicago. In 2020, she turned over to her employee so she could focus on running the Milkweed Inn, Bed and Breakfast in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

In 2019, Regan’s first memoir, “Burn the Place,” was long listed for the National Book Award, the first time a food writer got that nod in the 40 years since Julia Child won the year Regan was born.

In addition to being the chef and owner of the Milkweed Inn, Regan holds a Master of Fine Arts in Writing from The Art Institute of Chicago.
