07 Aug Original Thinkers: More About the Program + Passes Now!
Telluride-based Original Thinkers (OT) is a thoughtful ideas festival this year scheduled for September 29 – October 2. The weekend generally features 10 programs – each built around a particular idea, explored through a compelling mix of speakers, films, performance, and art – which delves into the human condition by focusing on the intersection of ideas and individual stories.

Greetings Original Thinkers,
We’ve begun announcing our programming for our 2022 festival in Telluride and I couldn’t be more excited about our lineup.A brilliant array of artists, films, musicians, and speakers are bringing to town their powerful stories and essential ideas that will push us all to think in new ways. The festival will explore themes of global empathy, disrupting broken systems, and more, complemented by thoughtful conversations and wellness experiences.
One guest I am particularly looking forward to meeting is Tuany Nascimento, an incredibly talented ballet dancer from Rio de Janeiro who started a dance school to give young girls a safe space to be creative and build community. Her story will be featured in the short film “Na Ponta dos Pés” and she will also be sharing a live performance with us after the screening, which you won’t want to miss.
We’ll also be showing the powerful feature documentary Of Medicine and Miracles, which tells two intersecting stories striving for the same goal: a cure for cancer. One lens is focused on Dr. Carl June, who has dedicated most of his career in medicine to finding a solution, while the other follows the family of Emily Whitehead, who was diagnosed with an incredibly aggressive strain of Leukemia at age 6. The film examines frustrations around the American medical system, while also highlighting the resilience and perseverance of these remarkable characters as they grasp for hope. Dr. June will join us in person for a deeper conversation about the film and his ongoing work in this rapidly changing field.
