“UKRAINE UNDER FIRE” with Jordan Campbell: A multimedia presentation about the war in Ukraine and the path of global humanitarian advocacy. The happening takes place Wednesday, July 13, 5:30pm, Telluride’s Wilkinson Public Library.

Jordan Campbell is CEO & Executive Producer for Ramro Global based in the Ridgway, Colorado area. As an international journalist, documentary filmmaker and humanitarian activist, he recently traveled to Ukraine to report on the war, embedding with a team of paramedics and nurses to care for injured and elderly populations.

Riding in ambulances throughout the recently liberated towns of Bucha, Borodyanka, Irpin and Chernihiv, Jordan witnessed widespread destruction and undeniable evidence of war-crimes. He also participated in a bold humanitarian mission to Ukraine’s far east, near the Donbas and Luhansk regions, to provide medical support and relocate 20+ internally displaced persons from the cities of Kramatorsk and Sloviansk, which remain under constant attack by Russian forces.

Jordan’s personal journey into humanitarian advocacy evolved through decades of international climbing and expeditions to the Himalaya where he experienced countless underserved communities, ultimately pivoting to crisis reporting to amplify the world’s most urgent humanitarian issues.

In 2019, Jordan started Ramro Global, a documentary film and emerging media platform created to advance worldwide humanitarian conversations toward action and impact.

In this two-part presentation, Jordan will share his reporting in the worldwide humanitarian space: from Syrian refugees in Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley and child heart surgery in Benghazi, Libya, to Colombia’s crop substitution program, Cameroon’s gender-based issues and Nepal’s earthquake reconstruction efforts.

He will also recount highlights from a landmark eye-care mission to South Sudan, and his subsequent documentary film about the trip, which won the Indomitable Spirit Award and Moving Mountains Prize at Telluride Mountainfilm (2013). (More here on”Duk County.”)

This global humanitarian tour lands squarely back on Ukraine. Jordan will share his experiences working with two NGO’s and his observations as a journalist covering the country’s wartime effort, including Ukraine’s remarkable civilian Territorial Defense Force(s). He will also share his personal experience traveling at night on buses and trains—reuniting with his courageous Ukrainian friends—and unveil the country’s stark wartime reality on the ground by daylight.

Jordan Campbell will close by moderating a conversation around the human cost of the conflict and the war’s long-range global impact. He will also provide authentic pathways for audiences to help support humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine.
