Mountain Village: Red, White & Blues Celebration, 7/3-4!

Celebrate the Fourth of July with the whole family this year at Mountain Village’s “Red, White and Blues Celebration.”

The Red, White & Blues Celebration is provided to the public free of charge by TMVOA and is sponsored by Telluride Society for Music and By Sutton. The event is held rain or shine and full schedule of activities can be viewed below.

Telluride Mountain Village Owners Association is pleased to announce the annual Red, White & Blues Celebration will continue the tradition of fun on both Sunday, July 3 and Monday, July 4.  The two-day event is set in the panoramic San Juan Mountains in Mountain Village, Colorado, and offers live music, fun activities, merchant discounts, food and drink specials, and more.

Although fireworks will not be taking place in Mountain Village (or Telluride) due to fire restrictions and drought concerns, the two-day celebration will offer a host of fun activities for kids of all ages along with live music.

“TMVOA is excited to continue to provide two days of live music and family friendly activities during the Red, White & Blues Celebration in Mountain Village,” said Heidi Stenhammer, TMVOA Administration and Operations Manager. “We look forward to having our members and visitors attend this wonderful community event.”

Head over to Sunset Plaza for inflatable jumpy castles, face painting, balloon art and a magic show by Mysto the Magi over both days and on July 4th an ice cream social will be hosted by the Telluride Adaptive Sports Program (1-5 pm).

Sunset Plaza is also home to the main concert stage this year with live music on Monday, July 4 (1-7 pm) featuring local musicians Joint Point, Sean DeLand and Bob Hemenger. Rounding out a fantastic afternoon of live music will be Dave Jordan and the NIA starting at 5:30 pm.

“We are thrilled to bring Dave Jordan and the NIA back up from New Orleans to perform.” Stated Teddy Errico, Producer, Telluride Society for Music. “New Orleans is the cradle of great music and Telluride has its parallels.  That is also why we are excited to feature other great local musicians on the 4th for everyone to enjoy.  We are so happy to be back and part of this fantastic event.”

Face-painting, cotton candy, food vendors and more will take place in Heritage Plaza on both days of the celebration, as well as live music by Bob Hemenger on Sunday, July 3rd (1-5pm). There will also be a fun demonstration by the Telluride Gymnastic team at 1 pm.

Adjacent to the Telluride Conference Center, Village Pond Plaza will play host to the Salida Circus, along with mini boat races, water balloon toss games, hula hoop competitions and chalk art contests for kids of all ages to show off their skills. Join Bazaa and the Juggler for mini shows from the Salida Circus throughout each day with shows at 2 and 4 pm.

Adjacent to the Madeline Hotel & Residences, Reflection Plaza will feature the hotel’s 2nd Annual Alpine BBQ Cookout (a ticketed event) from 11:30-3 p.m. on Saturday, July 2.  A mechanical bull will be available for the brave to test out their bucking bronco skills on July 3 & 4 (1-5pm) and Movies Under the Stars will feature “The Sandlot” on July 4 starting at sundown.

Mountain Village Mayor Laila Benitez has this to saay:

“I have found no better or meaningful way to celebrate the 4th of July than to enjoy it with our families and friends in the most beautiful corner of the country! We are so lucky to have such an amazing team working year-round to ensure ‘Red, White, and Blues’ continues to grow into the best homegrown celebration of country and our community. I look forward to seeing everyone there!”
